We're off today

We're leaving with the trailers today! I still have to pack a suitcase. LOL I'm a bit scared and excited all at one time.

Mike's changing the route as I type this. To make it shorter and flatter, according to him. Both are really good!

The fur kids are excited. They know their mc/trke kennes are loadedand now we're packing. Run's laying in the suitcases trying to make sure he goes and the other 2 are bouncing or claiming clothes.

I'll post when I can get a connection. If I don't, I'llbe back in about 14 days and post then.

Loading Day 3 and 4

We loaded the 18ft car hauler yesterday. The long trike, (size of a 78 tbird), Norn - Kawasaki cruiser) and Miss B - trike the size of a VW bug on it along with various parts, a couple small tool chests,The 2 dog kennels, and 2 extra tires for something... Miss B I think. Quite a 3d puzzle.

Today was a rest day. No doubt helped along by our setting the home network (we connect through a hub) so that we can play Diable 2 together on our local machines. I know its an older game, but neither of us have ever beaten it all 3 times to complete it. So that's what we did today get 2 characters to the same level and start the next quest.

Tomorrow we pack clothes, re-position the hitches on both trucks, and leave. I have to move patterns either to floppy or to my Palm.Floppy'd be easier. And I can print them along the way if things go well if we have the money.

Loading - day 2

Well, I thought the little trailer was full before. Guess not. Mike put our boxes fo clothes, sheets, towels and books along with other odds and ends on it. Couldn't believe what all he added and balanced! If I can manage Altamont Pass, I should be OK with the rest. We're going to Bakersfield and cutting across at Tahachapi to reach I 40. I'll get a picure to post of both trailers before we leave so you can see what a mess it is. Kinda like the old pictures from the Dustbowl, only we're going to OK instead of leaving there. LOL

It's showery today here, so he's working in the shed to separate out his tools and see what he can sell off there along with the other things. Should give me time to knit. I really want to get my bear started for the bear along!

Can you believe I make $40 to much a week on Unemployment for Mike to get his SSI! See my earlier rant about Food Stamps, GA etc. I won't go into it again. I want a nice calm Turkey Day.

We're going out like usual to a cheap place we go to so often they know us by name. Food's OK, and we can eat for $20 or less.Having no stove in the RV that works well. Eat 1 decent meal (as my grandmother always said) and it doesn't matter what you fill up on otherwise. Can you tell she went through the Depression years?

Loading again

In the past cople days we've started getting the trailers loaded and ready with help from my son.His live-in fiance took my 'sheep hat' for her Holiday gift. She does Christmas and we do Hanukkah and Jim does Holiday. LOL He still hasn't found a religion that suits him. Maybe in time. I found a skull cap pattern replete with skulls That he'll get for his bday. (dec. 15) Easy for me to remember since it's the day before mine. and I'll work on 2 scarves for the Holidays with skull borders. One for Mike and the other for Jim. Finally got her to look at places other than Houston and NC for them to move to. Pointed out SW OK advantages to them. Have my fingers crossed. His diabetes is getting worse by the day. So OK would make what money she makes as a security guard better and his SSi when he finally admits he needs it.

Anyway the Cushman truckster is loaded on the little trailer so far and the motorcycle trailer, gold wing fairing, bags and seats are all on the long trailer. We have the parts for the El Camino finally delivered to it's new owner. Now all we have to do is drive the long trike, Miss B- the sort trike, and Norn, the motorcycleonto the big trailer and tie it all down. We may get some boxes on it also.

I'm going to take my stuff and my clothes in my truck and load household goods on the little trailer I'm going to pull. Mike says 2 more loads. But I don't see where the $$ will come from
Although he's selling his kit car, a couple VW engines, rearends, trike frames, front ends etc.
Anyone know anyone who'd be interested???

I have to get training set up in OK as soon as we get back there. We're leaving Thurs or Fri. At least I have my fingers crossed. Have to get there quick to get my unemployment benefits extended. I'd like to take stylist and manicure training and take a trailer set up to the various bike runs. Figers crossed. I don't know if Unemployment will cover that kind of training. I may have to take what I can get for a year or so and go for a Pell Grant for it. I don't know. Been toying with a business plan though.

Finally Back

I'm finally back on line! We cancelled Covad DSL and they were too efficient, then got Yahoo (SBC) DSL and they weren't efficient enough. But it's all working again. I've finished 3 more hats and started 2 more scarves for the holidays. And I found a skull cap pattern with skulls for some of our biker friends. So it'll be on to more hats shortly.

On the move front, things are looking really bad. We sold the 2 classic trucks at least. Then by the time we paid back bills, we don't have enough money again. I finally told Mike that we really needed to load what we could and sell the rest. That's the only way I can see of doing it.

We also gave the little Honday TwinStar to a friend in Ukiah and she wants Miss B (the trike). But she can't start to make payments for awhile - several months. OTOH, it's one less bulky thing to move.

Mike's had a bad chest cold that hung on and on, then turned to sinus infection which aggravated his asthema which in turn started up the angina again. After almost 3 weeks, I finally got him to go to the Dr. He's now on antibiotics and prednisone which seems to have slowed things down. Dr. said in a few days he should feel better. Fingers crossed.

I found the OK web site and the number to call about training there. So that's also on the list for tomorrow. too. I need to find out how to go about getting training in Jan for an out of state unemployment claim.

Mike's applied for SSI! Finally! So maybe we won't be entirely in the poor house when we finally get home.
