Why moving knitter? Because it's me. :) Not only am I in the process of moving from California to Oklahoma, but I knit on the move in all kinds of places. I'll write about the knitting I do or want to do and the places as I knit in them.

Location: Lawton, Oklahoma, United States

I'm an ample in my mid 40s with 2 kids, both grown and on their own. My favorite list is ample-knitters! I've lived in 9 states so far and hope this move to our home state is the last one.I have 3 shih tzu's that are my kids. My husband is retired (again) and very mechanical.

One Third Packed, I think

Well the apartment I used when I was working during the week is packed. Except for a punch bowl I don't have a big enough box for. Not bad in one day. And my stash, leathers, and clothes are all out and in storage ready to be taken to OK.

I put another couple rows on the shawl and promptly ripped it all back out. Candy is really hard to work with. I think I'll cast on with the Katia multi-color yarn which is smoother by comparison and see if the cast on row looks better and knits easier tomorrow.

I held the computer and my husband fished out the metal piece from the broken floppy. So now I can add a few pictures.

Boxes Found Finally

Well, I finally had someone that sells Avon come through with boxes, so I can finish packing for this next load to OK! That and putting in several more resumes from online sites was about the extent of my day. Oh, I did take the promised pictures. Where are they? Still on the floppy. When I pulled a floppy out of my PC that had been there for who knows how long, the metal piece stayed in the drive. sigh. I couldn't fish it out. But, my DH says he can get it out with tweezers. So as soon as he does so, I'll post them.

Just found a roll-around tool box (of all things) with yarn that I still have to pack. I thought I had the stash all rounded up and packed! right. Everything form some gorgeous soft alpaca worsted to kitchen cotton and novelty stuff. Oh yea, that's where I was putting all the leftover bits from other projects too.

Can't wait to get home! We're taking a metal frame room with screen cloth back so we'll have a living room outside the little trailer. Have to remember to take the camp chairs too. Can't wait to sit there with a glass of sweet tea and watch the sunset!

Anyone have any ins at companies that need Software Quality Assurance folks? Cash is running out and I'm not getting any nibbles from TX or OK, despite the local address.

Found a neat site - It has cute cartoon mood faces. Here's mine for today. Well I thought I'd put it here. Guess it will have to go inthe template.

The answer is..... Both!

Well, I ended up casting on both the scarf/shawl (That needs a name!) and the hat today. I did the hat at red lights traveling around San Leandro as Mike, my husband, took the 64 El Camino around to try to sell it. No luck yet on that. Anyone interested? :) The hat's a red merino with a black band inset with varigated. Cute, I hope.

I stared the scarg/shawl on the trike. LOL I had to hold the handlebars straight while Mike changed the lights on the light bar and the front fender. So in all the wait time, I had a chance to do the cast on. I think it'll be OK. But I really think I need to add more color to the thing, just have to see as it goes.

List of pics I need to post: Me and Run and Mike, trike, El Camino, new stuff I'm working on, and... I know there's more. Any suggestions?

Rest Day

Today is a rest day. We took a car and pulled a 26 foot travel trailer from the Bay Area of California to Lawton, Oklahoma in 4 days. After getting it set up and visiting family and friends we started back to California and made it in 2 days. Talk about tired!

We'll be packing more tools, stash, knitting books, and household goods for another trip in about a week.

I started a Shapely T, from (Wonderful site!) and realized I'd left the paper pattern in CA. So I have the back cast on and about 6" done. I dropped back to one of my novelty scarves that I've had as a car project for a month or so. After getting it back on the needles and staightening out the dropped stitches in the middle I really made progress. It's almost 5' long now and should be done on this next run. Turned out my youngest Shih Tzu, Run, decided that my bamboo fifteens were good to chew and the scarf was in his way. So off the scarf went to the seat and he was happily chewing on the knob end when I saw him. I raised him on a bottle and he's spoiled rotten, so I couldn't say much. Just sighed, gave him his bone and took the needles, scarf and attached yarn to fix.

I want to start something else, like I really need to! I have a red hat or a brown scarf/shawl that are talking to me along with my red socks. I'll try to get a picture of them and post it tomorrow. I have to find the digital camera first. Then you can help me decide which one to go for first.
